When Apple announced in April of 2009 that users had downloaded more than a billion apps from their website in only eighteen months, it was clear that a new industry had been born. At last count, the Apple catalogue includes well over one-hundred thousand apps. This is both a blessing and a curse for consumers, who clearly cannot download and test out all new apps.
